My kids love minions. They were first introduced to minions when my husband and I were playing a fun little game called Minion Run, and then we let them watch Despicable Me. And I’m pretty sure their favorite part of the whole movie is the 10 minutes that come during the credits when the minions are playing around.
When they asked for a minion craft, I came up with this super easy craft that uses dollar store supplies. This would be a great craft to have at a kids minion party because the supplies are so cheap and putting it together is simple, especially if you cut out the pieces beforehand.
-Foam pieces (1 blue and 2 yellow)
-Large googly eye
-Black pipe cleaner
-Small piece of black construction paper
-Black marker (I used a sharpie)
Cut one of your pieces of yellow foam into an oval.
Trace the bottom part of your oval onto the blue foam, about half-way up your yellow oval.
Cut out the blue foam piece. Draw where you want your arms to stick out.
Cut out the arm holes.
Draw two hands with long arms on your other piece of yellow foam for your minion.
Glue these onto the front of your minion where the arm holes go.
Cut out a small set of black boots from your black construction paper. Glue these onto the front of your minion at the bottom, so they hang over the edge.
Cut a small scoop in the neck of your blue foam and glue it into the minion.
Cut a small rectangle out of the black construction paper for the minion’s hair.
Cut some fringe into it, and attach it to the back of your minions head.
Glue the large googly eye on the front of your minion.
Take your pipe cleaner and form it into a goggle for your minions eye.
Glue down the pipe cleaner and tie it together in the back.
Using a small scrap of your blue foam, create a little pocket for your minions overalls. And don’t forget to add a little smile.
And there he is – a little minion! This is an easy craft to customize to make lots of the different minion personalities.
