Paper play is so fun to me. You can get so creative and come up with awesome things to play with. But when you’re done, you can recycle or toss it out and not have to deal with the long term mess. And with printables, you can always print it off and enjoy them again.
Today I have a printable template for you to make your own fun round paper doll people. Plus I’ll show you how I made the jetpack and lightsaber.
Just print, color, and glue them together. The printable template has a boy, a girl, a robot, plus some blank templates to use. You can use the patternsĀ to come up with all sorts of fun little paper doll people.
You can print the template here.
We colored several of ours to look like Star Wars characters.
We also made a Minecraft creeper and a little minion.
One of the best things about a craft like this, though, is what else you can come up with. My kids asked for a jetpack for one of the little people we made.
Take two long strips of paper. I made mine about 8 inches long.
Cover one side in glue. Take a bamboo skewer or other long, thin stick and begin to tightly roll the paper up.
When you reach the end, glue the last little bit down and remove the skewer.
Repeat to make another cylinder.
Attach the two tubes to a small square of paper.
Cut out two small squares of yellow or orange tissue paper.
Pinch them in the middle and stick them inside the bottom of the tubes.
Then attach the jetpack to one of your paper people.
You can use a similar technique with rolling the paper to create a lightsaber like I did for our original guy. Just cut the strip of paper wider – as long as you want your lightsaber to be. After you roll it up, color the handle.
All of us enjoyed playing with these little paper people. It’s amazing how creative kids can get with a little roll of paper.
