Lion Craft Printable
Let’s put together a fun lion papercraft! This is a super easy craft – even preschoolers could do it with a little help, and it makes a great independent craft for early elementary!
This craft is in black and white, so kids can color them on their own (and you won’t use up a ton of ink!).

Materials:
- Paper – regular paper is perfect for this, but you can print it on cardstock if you want it to hold up longer
- Scissors
- Glue – I’d recommend gluesticks for this craft. You can use regular glue, but just make sure your kids or students go light with it!
- Printable lion craft template – get it here in my Etsy shop!

Cut out all the pieces of the craft. Optional: Cut out each line around the lion’s mane for the fringe.
Then fold down on all the lines.
Glue along the long seam of the craft, where marked.
Line up the seam, and press tightly. If your kids or students have shorter fingers and can’t reach all the way into the craft, have them slide a pencil inside the craft, against the seam, to press against. We want to make sure this part is nice and secure, so it doesn’t fall apart!
Now it’s time to put on the lion’s mane! Glue all the way around the face, where it’s marked to glue.
Then carefully place the mane onto the face.
To make sure the mane stays securely attached, gently pinch around the edges.
And there we have it – our completed papercraft lion!

What age is this craft good for?
This craft is perfect for early elementary kids. Preschoolers can do it as well, but they may need a little more help.
What paper should I print this on?
You can print it (and copy it) on regular paper. If you want to hold up a little longer, I’d recommend cardstock.
Can I use this craft for a library, after-school program, co-op, etc.?
Yes, absolutely! You can use any of the crafts I offer (paid or free) in a group setting. Just don’t share the original file with others.
Did you make this using AI?
